Initial Oral Examination
Your initial oral examination includes:

  • visual examination,
  • bite-wing x-rays to show any cavities that might exist between the back teeth
  • panoramic x-ray to show the full mouth including wisdom teeth, portions of the sinuses and other bony structures
  • notation of existing restorations as well as needed restorations,
  • periodontal probing, which is the measuring of unattached soft tissue around each tooth.  This gives a strong indication as to the health of the attachment aperatus of the teeth.
  • diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Implants
Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root.  The most common type of implants used today are called root form, because they are shaped similar to the tooth's natural root.  They are made of titanium and coated with one of several different substances to stimulate the natural bone growth, which will hopefully cause the implant to be successful.  Implants are placed in the jawbone to act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge.  Implants can also be used to attach dentures.  This is particularly helpful for those wearing lower complete dentures, because it stabilizs the denture and causes it to stay in place.Read More...

LumineersLumineers are extremely thin pieces of porcelain cemented on the front of your tooth or teeth to change their color or shape. Veneers are used for teeth that have uneven surfaces, are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, unevenly spaced or crooked. Read More...

Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are caps, usually made of pressed porcelain, covering a tooth. They are used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal, or when decay in a tooth is so extensive that large portions of the tooth are missing. Read More...

Teeth Whitening
Whitening is a procedure that causes your teeth to have a whiter and brighter appearance.  Our teeth naturally get darker as we get older, and things like caffeine and tobacco cause the results to be more pronounced.  In our practice, we provide FREE WHITENING FOR LIFE!!  You can learn more about this at your first visit to our office. Read More...

Root Canal Therapy
Root canals are tiny passageways inside the roots of the teeth, that carry the nerve and blood supply into the tooth. Root canal therapy is a the process of removing the nerve and blood supply from the tooth, shaping the inside of the roots, and filling the canals with a rubbery substance called gutta percha.  Read More...

Toothaches
Sometimes, a toothache can be caused by a piece of debris lodged between two teeth and can be relieved by rinsing, brushing, and flossing to clear the debris.  DO NOT place an aspirin on the gum next to the tooth to relieve pain, because the dissolving aspirin can actually damage your gum tissue.  Most real toothaches are caused by an exposed, damaged, infected, or dying nerve.  Once this happens, the only solution is extraction or root canal therapyRead More...

Dental Emergencies
Our goal is to help you to minimize the risk of the need for emergency treatment. This is why we commit such a generous amont of time to designing a Treatment Plan that will help reduce the possibility of unexpected pain or tooth breakage. This is also why Dr. Beemer makes his cel phone number available to his patients.  There is no reason for Dr. Beemer's patients to suffer.Read More...
